Hey everyone, the sale on GTA 5 is exciting! I’ve played it on Xbox 360 before and still want it in my collection. The main issue is that OpenIV modding has shut down, and I’m unsure if there are other ways to add mods—like cars, textures, or driving features. Are there any tools that can work with GTA’s packed files for modification?

I don’t believe anyone should buy GTA V anymore after the push they made to rethink it. The huge negative feedback on Steam is really funny, and Rockstar clearly missed this one. I haven’t played it in a while… though I still enjoy its driving features more than any racing game right now.

They did a complete waste of time, and everyone is upset about it. You didn’t get it—just think about your money and decide what to do next.

Take-Two was responsible for ending OpenIV, and they run the company behind Rockstar. Personally, I’m into this game, but I won’t spend money on GTA Online. I prefer solo play with mods, some online fun with friends.

I really considered adding it during the Summer Sale because of the mods, but now I’m not interested. I’ve already tried the story mode and played online on PS4; it quickly became boring. There’s no point in purchasing it again for the same content.

I get why Rockstar did it, but I’m confused about why they’d allow mods for single-player. It only impacts your own experience, not others’. If you have friends who want to play online and you’re okay with that, go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t choose this game.

T2 is a terrible publisher and they should feel the shame. They ruined modding for GTA V and GTA IV. Don’t purchase their titles—I’m certain I won’t even read those reviews! This is the result of interfering with the modding community on GTA V.

The focus on shutting down OpenIV stems from its ability to provide access to Online-only DLC in Single Player. This lets players enjoy content without spending excessive time on repetitive missions online or being forced to buy Shark Cards to accelerate progress. Without these micro transactions, players risk losing money. The ban primarily impacts single-player modders and creators—like Twitch streamers and YouTubers using tools such as LCPDFR—which were quite engaging. EDIT: The 50% discount on V feels like a weak response, possibly just damage control. They likely wouldn’t have offered it if the situation hadn’t escalated due to OpenIV issues and low ratings.
