G.skill tridentx 2133mhz cas 9 compatible with ASRock H97M-ITX/AC
So here’s the situation. The specs for the 2133mhz TridentX indicate it can operate at 1600mhz at case 7. But when I install it on the motherboard, the default (1333mhz) runs at case 9, and at 1600mhz it works at case 11. I’ve tried adjusting the XMP profile, but I’m not sure how to get stability. From what I understand, both the motherboard and CPU can handle 1600mhz at 1.5V. Any advice would be really appreciated, and I’d love to see the RAM function at case 7 on 1600Mhz.

Ram: G.Skill TridentX 2133mhz version
PSU: EVGA SUPERNOVA 750
Ps. The maximum supported speed for the motherboard is 1600. The XMP profiles listed are only for 1333, 1069 (or similar), 800, and two XMP versions for 2133mhz.
I haven't used an H97 board before, maybe only Z97 can let you adjust things manually. It might only support official JDEC standard speeds and timings for DDR3. If that's the case, something like 1600mhz 9-11-11-24 could be the maximum allowed, but I'd guess it would at least support 9-9-9-24 at 1600mhz.
Unfortunately, it doesn't allow me to do it manually—it's quite strange, you have to verify various details in the existing profiles before making the change. I haven't checked for any 8s nearby, but if I recall right, none of them had 7-8-8-24; the closest was 9-11-11-24. I'll look again as soon as I get home. I've been struggling with my head since yesterday night. Would adjusting those times be the only thing I need to do?

It seems it might only function with Z97, which is why cheaper products often become outdated. Do you think it would affect my system if it keeps failing to boot? It's always unsettling until it stabilizes. I'm planning to test 9-9-9-24 and possibly 9-11-11-24, hoping for a better result. Yesterday I tried 7-7-7-20 and that caused issues, really scared me. If it works, what modifications would be necessary? No changes to the CPU or RAM voltage, right? Thanks a lot for your help!
When working with this motherboard, it became clear that the maximum stable clocks I could reach were 9-9-9-24. Make sure to verify both slots since the profiles only adjust clocks for one stick (which determines which stick appears at the top left of the window). Interestingly, disabling Intel turbo can cause your CPU to run at full capacity even under light load—my experience shows it might be around 3.8 GHz compared to its maximum of 3.3 GHz. Avoid making any other changes. In case of issues, simply apply the default UEFI settings, save, and exit; everything should return to normal.
