Greetings, I'm a newcomer and require assistance with my gaming on my recently upgraded computer.
Greetings, my name is Mark. I recently completed a new computer assembly and am experiencing problems with frequent game freezing and crashes. I’m seeking assistance to understand the cause of these issues, as my build specifications are outlined below. It’s perplexing why these games crash or freeze; however, they perform exceptionally well, achieving frame rates between 150 and 200 on my 144Hz monitor.
My system details:
Windows 10 (64-bit)
Intel i9 9900k Coffee Lake (8 cores, 1151 socket)
MSI RTX GAMING X TRIO NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 (8GB)
MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE AC motherboard
Samsung 500GB 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe SSD
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (16GB memory)
Seagate 2TB 3.5” HDD
Corsair H100i Pro (240mm AIO liquid cooling)
Riotoro 750W Gold PSU (fully modular power supply)
The problem emerged when I launched several games, and the suggested default settings—maximum graphics options—resulted in remarkably smooth gameplay with consistently high frame rates, typically between 150 and 200. This makes the crashes particularly baffling.
I’m relatively new to PC building, which is why I'm asking for advice. It may not be a problem with the display port connector on my graphics card, which utilizes DisplayPort 1.4; however, I'm currently using a DisplayPort 1.2 cable.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Greetings, my friend.

What are your processor and graphics card temperatures like while playing games?
Have you performed any memory diagnostics?
Hello, thank you for getting back to me. I had completely overlooked running a memory test – it came up clean, indicating no problems with my RAM. My graphics card temperature remained at 60 degrees Celsius, meaning there was no overheating, and my CPU temperatures were 45 degrees Celsius, which is also within acceptable limits.
My RAM operates at a speed of 3200MHz, so that’s not a concern either.
Greetings, my companion.
