Your computer shows a green-yellow boot indicator and a white light beside the VGA. It's a brand-new build with all components replaced except the GPU, which came from an old system. It powers on fully, but the boot light and VGA light remain active without displaying anything. After clearing the CMOS, nothing changed. You mentioned trying to identify a specific GPU model, but it seems unclear what you're looking for.

I would check the PSU with a tester. That’s my approach, but it might still be functional. "If your ASUS motherboard displays white light, it indicates an issue with the connection between your graphics card and the motherboard. This could stem from several factors like a loose cable, a defective graphics card, or incompatible components." "The Green/Yellow LED signifies it didn’t recognize a storage device or has an error. Inspect the cables linking your SSD to ensure proper functionality. If the screen shows text from BIOS stating no bootable storage, it might point to a specific drive issue." Which drive are you using or is it connected? SSD or HDD?

I had never seen an external SSD trigger that kind of warning. It's unfamiliar to me. Even with NVMe 2.0, the white light issue still needs fixing. (Video display and motherboard compatibility.)

I'm planning to visit my dad to double-check everything I did when setting it up. If the issues persist, I might need to purchase a new GPU.

Ensure the video card sits flat and is centered in the PCI-e slot. Verify all connections are secure and properly aligned.
