Great offer on a motherboard!
I’ve swapped all components except the CPU (8700K) and motherboard in my prebuilt IBuyPower PC. Recently, I discovered my motherboard is an affordable MSI Z370-A Pro (low tier). I’ve been monitoring it on Newegg and Amazon for a while now (about 2-3 months), usually around $289.99, though it drops to $259.99 during sales. It’s currently on a special deal at $239, with a $20 MIR bringing the cost down to $219. I’m considering upgrading and want something better—higher quality, more than one M.2 slot, and overclocking capability. Does anyone have personal experience or trusted opinions about this board? Is it worth purchasing for $219?
I just fired the trigger. I’ve been keeping an eye on it daily for months to spot a good deal, and the best price I’ve seen is $259.99—$219.99 looks like a great bargain! The MEG ACE is a top-tier board and only about $50 more than lower-quality models. My old z370a pro was around $150.
Ensure you have a Wi-Fi adapter installed; it seems the board lacks one, but the VRMs are highly cooled and ideal for overclocking.
If Ethernet isn't available, consider checking with a Bluetooth adapter instead
I purchased a prebuilt mainly because I needed a computer in April 2018. At that time, GPU prices were significantly inflated because cryptocurrency miners increased demand while supply dropped. The only practical option was buying a prebuilt unit. It wasn't really a matter of preference but necessity.
P.S. This wasn’t just about boosting the CPU. I needed a motherboard supporting dual NVMe drives and better RAM overclocks. Plus, it’s a nice gesture for my dad—his old PC still works, and he’ll love getting this DDR2 upgrade.
Hey, think your dad isn’t paying attention. My grandfather just asked me to pick a budget Chromebook under $150. Browsing the news on his old computer isn’t too much work. No problem, just enjoy the device and its faster performance.
