Graphics card and motherboard fail to align colors when using Aura.
I had Aura v 1.0.67.60 before and RGB worked on the motherboard but didn't sync with the ROG Strix Gaming 1660 Ti OC. After updating to 1.0.7, everything broke on Windows—I had to reformat it. Only the graphics card displayed RGB after the update, while the motherboard failed completely. Even linking with the "chain icon" in the software didn't help. What’s going wrong? How can I make my motherboard and graphics card match in color? My BoM is Maximus VIII Formula. I’m uploading a video so you can see the problem.
I own the same motherboard. The Maximus VIII was one of the earliest RGB boards available and, being a first-generation model, lacked the "aura sync" capability that modern boards offer. In fact, the only Z170 board with this feature (due to its later release) was the Z170 Pro Gaming Aura. Following that, nearly all Z270 models from the second generation featured "aura sync" instead of "aura RGB." Therefore, your board only supports basic Aura RGB and not the full Aura sync (verify the symbol on the product page). You might be able to sync certain items by connecting them directly to the motherboard's 12V RGB header, but you can't synchronize your GPU and motherboard. You'll need to download two different Aura versions from each product's support page and configure them manually.
