My PC is not inherently poor, though it’s several years old. My specifications are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i5 6402P @ 2.80GHz, RAM: 8GB Single-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz, GPU: 3.071GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z170-A PRO (MS-7971) (U3E1). I used to be able to run GTA V with minimal lag, but now it’s severely lagging even on the lowest settings. I have a 144Hz and 60Hz monitor, and I’m unsure if this impacts my frame rate. I am perplexed because I don't believe my PC is inadequate, particularly considering the game’s excessive lag with low settings. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time.

Your performance is limited by a single stick. Using two sticks provides dual channel and significantly improved performance. Ensure the sticks are identical, purchased from the same manufacturer, as mixing RAM sticks is typically not supported.
