My pops has a PC he uses for gaming, so I thought about boosting its performance. I’m not very experienced with the steps but I’ve seen many tutorials and read plenty about it. Right now he’s running a GTX 970. The issue I’m concerned about is that the voltage and base are changing together. I’m using MSI AFTERBURNER and MSI KOMBUSTER. The settings are: 1920x1080, voltage between 1087-1075, base between 1354-1341, boot at 3881, and it’s fluctuating but I don’t know why... Here’s a summary of my configuration: core voltage = 10… max is 37 (not sure why), power limit = 120, temp limit = 82°C (currently around 58°C), core clock = 150, memory clock = 375, fan speed = 65. I’ve stopped increasing the overclocking because I don’t want to risk damaging his computer and I’m still confused about the fluctuations.

The clock won't operate at maximum speed continuously; it increases its pace only when needed, such as during gameplay.

Your card will inform MSI Afterburner or any other overclocking tool about its maximum core, VRAM, thermal DPT, and voltages, ensuring you stay within safe limits to prevent damage.
