GPU usage is going up and down sometimes
Hello everyone. I have this problem where the GPU usage drops from 100% down to zero when I am playing games. It just randomly gets high and then low. I use a laptop with an i7-8550U, 8GB of single-channel RAM, and an AMD R7 M460 GPU that has only 4GB of video memory. I only play emulator games in Gameloop (like PUBG or COD Mobile). My CPU uses about 30% to 40%, but my RAM usage is between 6 and 7 GB while gaming. The GPU gets hot, reaching around 80 degrees Celsius. I tried completely removing and reinstalling my GPU drivers using DDU, and the error messages say "GPU time out detected" and "rendering failure." Is it because of my single-channel RAM? Or is my laptop just not powerful enough to support Gameloop without a better setup?
Usually, this problem happens when your CPU isn't sending enough information to your GPU, so your usage drops because the GPU waits for more data. But with these extra problems you're having, I think it's a bad graphics card. Try lowering the resolution and all other in-game or app settings as much as possible. See if the issues are still there after trying that.
usually this goes back to your CPU. If it's not sending enough info, or even any, to help the GPU work properly, then its speed will slow down because it has to wait for more data. But since you're having extra problems that seem different from what I described earlier, I think it might be broken graphics card instead of just a lack of resources. Try turning down your resolution and all other settings in games or apps until they are set to their lowest options. Check again if the issues are still there after that.
I tried using low settings but couldn't fix it. The screen still says "Failed to create rendering window." I think my graphics card isn't working right now 🤔😞
