Whenever I increase my GPU's overclocking, it crashes and goes black. I've tried boosting the voltage, but only changed the core, not the memory, and still it fails. The listed specifications look terrible for now since I only purchase items when I save double the cost for safety.

What method are you employing to increase the video card's speed?
Honestly, I don't see a strong need to invest significant time in overclocking unless you're aiming for high rankings or just for fun.
