I own an MSI 2080 Super Gaming X Trio and it’s throttling at 49c, likely for a few minutes then returns to normal. The main change was removing the backplate since I considered swapping it, but the thermal pads stayed in place. I also watched a video about boosting performance on the NIVIA control panel. Still confused about why this is happening.

You may want to check if swapping the backplate with the stock positions for the thermal pads alters your throttling experience. Sharing your thoughts on how you "enhanced" your GPU performance would be great. A video link would be really useful.

I believe the PSU is the Rm750x. I reattached the backplate and verified the thermal pads were placed correctly as before. Performance didn’t actually improve.

Only when I play is my GPU throttling at 49c, allowing me to potentially last about 10 minutes before it slows down further.

On my MSI 2080 gaming setup with three GPUs, the performance drops significantly during Ark, with temperatures ranging from 48°C to 51°C, but it never reaches full capacity. It's just this particular game that causes the issue.
