GPU Strange after Overclocking
GPU Strange after Overclocking
Good morning,
I’ve been experiencing some unusual problems with my Notebook’s gaming performance over the past week. After overclocking my GTX 960M, my gaming experience hasn’t been as smooth as it used to be. The graphics card is strong, but certain triple-A titles need a bit more effort to run well. I installed the EVGA Precision to help. At that time, I was playing Assassin’s Creed Unity, and after overclocking, the game ran smoothly with temperatures reaching 65°C, though it still works fine now.
However, some games that previously ran perfectly have become problematic. FIFA 17 and Assassin’s Creed III are now quite erratic. FIFA, which previously handled at unlimited FPS, now stutters slightly, so I’m limited to 60fps to avoid issues. The biggest change came with ACIII: everything was fine in Ultra mode before, but now it’s plagued by stuttering, fast camera movements, and inconsistent FPS. Overclocking ACIII made things even worse—everything feels overly fast and unstable.
I attempted to overclock ACIII, but the performance became extremely demanding. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Have you considered resetting your GTX 960M's clocks back to its original settings?
Did you try removing and reinstalling your games after overclocking, especially if they were installed on previous clocks?
Could you provide the model and make of your gaming laptop?
