I fixed and replaced the thermal pads on my EVGA 1070 SC2. When I restarted, the fans started up and turned off after reaching full speed, which felt like overheating to me. Now it powers on, the fans shut down, but the motherboard doesn’t recognize it in BIOS. I reopened the case and reduced the screw pressure. I used non-conductive thermal paste and had a BIOS flasher ready just in case. I ran a BIOS check just to be safe—no visible issues. The rest of the system works fine; it boots on IG-PUGA and 970. My specs are: Intel i7-9700K, 32GB Corsair RAM, 650W Thermaltake PSU, Samsung 970 SSD.
