GPU shuts down after short periods.
I powered on my PC and noticed the GPU stopped working after a few minutes. Everything appears to be spinning, fans are running normally, but the monitor shows no signal, suggesting the GPU isn’t connected. I verified all connections, removed one RAM stick and another, swapped two power sockets in the house, changed an HDMI cable, but the issue persists. I even installed new drivers via the NVIDIA utility, yet nothing resolved it. The same problem occurs even when accessing BIOS. Despite having no artifacts, overheating, or viruses, after troubleshooting and restarting multiple times, my screen flickered green and yellow. Before sharing this with a friend, could you check the Windows event logs or anything else?
It functioned properly for about an hour before the monitor stopped showing any signal and turned black.
Your GPU might be overheating. Try cleaning your PC to possibly resolve the problem.
You can monitor temperatures using tools such as GPU-z or HWinfo64 to identify overheating issues. A CPU exceeding 95°C or a GPU above 85°C is typically overheating. Share your computer specifications.
I haven't noticed any overheating. After checking with HWinfo64 and using occt, it doesn’t seem like the system is overheating. During testing I heard sounds through the headset, RGB lights were bright, the fan was spinning normally even when the GPU was on, and the behavior varied—sometimes it turned off in a minute, sometimes after an hour, and sometimes it didn’t shut down at all. I suspect the power supply unit might be the issue. There’s probably a way to verify it, but I’m not sure how yet.
I noticed some unusual activity on top GPUs and the latest Nvidia drivers. You might want to check out an older driver version.
