RX 7900 XTX954.80$
RX 9070 XT742.19$
I'm checking a current GPU sale nearby and considering buying the listed models for 4K with around 100 FPS. I'm looking for the best performance at a reasonable price, regardless of brand—NVIDIA or AMD. I don't really like FSR and want the card to last at least three years. The ASUS Prime AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC in PowerColor Hellhound style and the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX PowerColor are options I found. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8mYxXR speclist

I focus mainly on achieving top performance for the lowest cost, so I don’t really care about choosing between Nvidia or AMD.
What games do you play?
I don’t really like using FSR and prefer a card that can last at least three years.
Consider current compatibility rather than older systems, as driver support usually stops working or gets quietly removed. That means the RX 9070 XT is the right choice.
If you want more visuals at 4K, you might want to look into Nvidia’s options, like the RTX 5080.
Your current power supply will match the RX 9070 XT.

Good question. Considering your requirements (4K, around 100+ FPS, and at least three years of use), the RX 9070 XT seems like a solid pick at the price you mentioned. It uses a newer architecture (RDNA4), consumes less power, and delivers strong performance for its cost. Unless you’re concerned about the 16 GB of VRAM possibly limiting you in future demanding 4K games, it’s a reliable choice.

Alternatively, if you prioritize long-term flexibility for complex textures, large VRAM needs, or upcoming AAA titles, the 7900 XTX with 24 GB of VRAM offers better protection against future limitations. It also provides more raw power in certain situations, potentially giving steadier high FPS in tough games. However, the price gap is substantial — if the 9070 XT is significantly cheaper, it offers better value per dollar.

Probably a simple question
I’ll try different options like cod bo7, bf6, stellar blade, JRPGs, and racing games
The 5080 seems a bit tricky since it’s 300-400 USD more than the 9070xt

The maximum amount I'm targeting is approximately 1100 USD.
Current prices are listed as follows:
RTX 5080 1169.36
RTX 5070 Ti 1071.83
RX 7900 XTX 954.80
RX 9070 XT 742.19 (converted NOK to USD)
A budget of 1000US would be the upper limit I'm considering, and that seems reasonable.
Looking ahead could be beneficial since it's unclear how long the card will be used or what games will be available in the future. I also prefer not to rely heavily on AI tools like FSR/DLSS or framegen.

Purchase the top-performing option within your limits of morality and finances.
The cost may drop slightly at first.
However, opting for a smaller choice will ensure your decision remains valid much sooner.

Of those, I think the 9070xt offers the best value in my view. It’s roughly 5-6% slower than the 5070ti but tends to be a more affordable option. The 5070ti seems to lag about 20% behind the 5080, which gives you a sense of what to expect. The 5080 is clearly the fastest in your list, but you might wonder if you can enhance other aspects like RAM or storage with the savings. It’s entirely up to you and what feels comfortable.
