GPU remains locked at 300MHz during high demand
Your 1660 Super is running at 300mhz despite high performance demands, and you've tried several fixes. You removed MSI Afterburner, cleared drivers with ddu, updated the drivers, re-seated the GPU in different slots, and confirmed the power connector was secure. Still no improvement. Consider checking for firmware updates from the manufacturer, inspecting for any loose connections beyond the slot, or testing with a different GPU if possible. If issues persist, contact support directly for further assistance.
The 300MHz frequency seems unusual, but GPUs don't always reach their full potential under load, do they? Have you noticed any lag in games?
Did you adjust the power settings on Windows before this problem occurred?
What information appears in GPU-Z: PerfCap Reason to help us understand the issue?
Could the limitation come from manufacturer settings? If so, which brand does your GPU belong to? (I’m thinking HP or DELL prebuilt models)
I only changed the power settings to turn on the high performance plan. The GPU status shows the perfcap reason as power, which seems odd since it’s using 250 watts when idle. I assumed removing the afterburner might help. The manufacturer is MSI, so I thought uninstalling could resolve the issue.
