While playing games, especially intense ones, my GPU often hits maximum usage after a short while, causing the system to freeze and the screen to go dark for a moment. In multiplayer situations everything stays active even when the screen is black, but in single-player games like Elden Ring it completely stops until it recovers. I've tried plugging the PC into the wall instead of using an extension cord, but nothing seems to fix the issue. Graphics drivers were updated and downgraded, but they didn't help.

It seems the display driver is experiencing issues. Reinstalling everything might point to a hardware problem. Consider using a different power supply if available and verify the PCIe cables are securely connected. If the problem persists, run a memory test.

the temperatures appear to remain consistently typical, staying well below 60c even during high demand

The PSU I'm using has been upgraded, which was my initial assumption about the problem, so I'll attempt a memtest.

It could indicate a motherboard issue or a BIOS problem.

Consider methods to diagnose issues effectively.
Think about testing parts step by step.
Look for patterns or clues in the problem.
Use tools or resources to gather more information.

After mem testing, I didn't encounter any errors.

If you're working with the BIOS, you can restore it by removing the CMOS battery and reinserting it.

I haven't adjusted the BIOS, I attempted to modify the RAM clock speeds but it failed, then I removed the CMOS battery and haven't done anything else I can recall.
