GPU problems with RX 6950 XT

I followed the 2024 build instructions and don’t see any hardware problems. The GPU is functioning properly; I’ve updated the motherboard, GPU, and chipset drivers. I adjusted Windows settings and performed a clean Windows 11 Home install, but removing bloatware didn’t resolve the issue. After using MSI Afterburner, the GPU’s core clock dropped from 500MHz to around 140MHz and then to 0MHz during gameplay. I have an 850W 80+ Gold PSU and my RAM is working fine; neither the PSU nor the RAM are causing the problem. The GPU also won’t let me tweak or optimize it with AMD Adrenalin. Someone suggested waiting, but stuttering and frame drops were severe during games. I also tried older, more stable drivers from online forums. It seems the CPU isn’t the issue—it’s a Ryzen 5 7600X, all components are new except the GPU. The problem started suddenly, about a day or two after the build, and the GPU performed well before that.

I would employ a utility named DDU to fully eliminate all AMD drivers from the system, and subsequently reinstall them. This should likely resolve your issue.

I tried using ddu and reinstalled the drivers, yet the problem persists. I should have noted the audio issues during intense stutters, but I’m not sure if that helps. Thanks for your guidance.

It seems like a system update triggered the problem. Would you like me to review your Windows update log to determine if any updates occurred on the day the issue started?
