Hi, I'm just starting out with overclocking. I recently purchased an EVGA 1070 SC and in EVGA PrecisionX the default power target is set to 100%, but I can adjust it to 112%. Will increasing the power target from 100% to 112% actually improve performance?

No, it shouldn't be done; they'll become softer if they do, meaning the precision will be turned off and it disappears.
