Purchased a XFX Merc 310 7900 XTX GPU
Also acquired an MSI APG 1000 PCIe5.0 ready modular PSU
The GPU features (3) 8-pin connections (6+2).
On the PSU there are 2 remaining 8-pin connections and a +12VHPWR port available.
Which cables and connections should I use?
I considered connecting an 8-pin connector to the PSU, which would branch into (2) 8-pin connectors (6+2), and then using the +12VHPWR cable that connects to an 8-pin (6+2) port.
Confused because I could also skip the +12VHPWR connector entirely and use two of the standard 8-pin connectors, which would branch into four 6+2 connectors.
Please advise. I have already booted the PC without the GPU and this is my final step before installing Windows and completing the setup.
Thank you.

I choose the 3 x 8-pins and omit the new +12VHPWR link. It's not necessary if your setup includes the 8-pins; the card will accommodate it.

Are the 8-pin cables suitable for doubling a 6+2 configuration? It seems odd that they produce splitter cables, but likely they're not handling significant power loads.

these cables are built to supply power to both of the 8-pins it contains.
they aren't meant to act as a splitter, as they don't attempt to divide a single 8-pin into two.
thus, it's completely safe to use them exactly as intended.
