I own an Asus GTX 660 GPU and considered increasing its speed. What methods are most effective for overclocking a GPU? What are the dangers involved? And what advantages does it offer?

I suggest trying the Asus GPU Tweak. Gradually boost the Core clock speed by 50 MHz at a time, then install MSi Kombustor. While running Kombustor, increase the GPU speed in 50MHz steps. For example, go from 860MHz to 960Mhz. Maintain these settings and let Kombustor run for 15-20 minutes. If it crashes, reduce the core speed. If it works, continue. REMEMBER: Disable auto fan control at the bottom and set the fan to its maximum for as long as possible. The main challenge in overclocking is temperature—keep it below 80-85°C after testing.

Advantages: Top performance for the price, improved FPS and overall speed.
Disadvantages: Reduced lifespan (just a few months compared to the card's expected life of up to 5 years), increased heat, higher power consumption.

here are the proper steps to overclock your GPU. i recommend this to all my friends and beginners in overclocking. just follow the instructions carefully and you'll be good to go with your overclocked GPU! the best tools include msi afterburner, valley benchmark, and gpu-z. risk: you might damage your GPU. advice: use a good psu. benefits: it gives you a free upgrade for your old GPU.
