Does that cover everything in that setup? If you also have those two, then it makes sense for your GPU to operate at 8x speed.

The manual states that the board reduces dimensions from x16 to x8 when using M.2s, allowing each M.2 to operate at x4 speed. You should confirm if M.2s are already installed.

Yes, that's correct. Your R9 5950X will be available at X16 when it launches.

It depends on whether you're running one or two systems. I’m not very familiar with this board, but it could be a newer or older model. It seems like a first or second generation setup, though opinions are split. The site suggests updating to BIOS 4007 and the 2400 chip before swapping CPUs. I’m unsure about running a Zen 3 on a B450 with an R9, but the VRMs appear to be in good condition, which might make it feasible.

The 2400G only works with x8 support. This information is available on the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G page. It mentions 12 PCIe slots and storage options, but only x8 is compatible. The 5950X should handle it properly.

I was just trying to find this information... It seems like a constraint of both the 2400 and B450 chipsets. Still searching for it. So far it looks like x16 is reduced to x8 via regular lane swapping, letting x4 fit into both M.2 slots. This makes me wonder if anyone is actually using x16, given how many rely on M.2 drives. I understand the tech limits—either you trade storage speed for full x16 GPU performance or vice versa. It feels odd that we’d have to settle for 32 lanes just to keep x16 GPU speeds, but it seems they might improve with better designs.
