GPU operating at full capacity for a smoother gaming experience
I recently purchased Uno for gaming with friends. However, when I launch it, the GPU spikes to nearly full usage and reaches 80°C. In contrast, Rainbow Six Siege runs smoothly with only about 80% CPU usage. Why does Uno behave differently compared to other games? My system has an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and an RX580 GPU.
Check if it's available on Steam. If yes, enable the FPS counter—it suggests it isn't capped and is utilizing all your system resources. Look for a graphics settings section and verify V-sync options; these often restrict FPS based on monitor refresh rates. If no limits exist, you might adjust settings in RTSS (RivaTunerStatisticsServer), which comes with MSI Afterburner if installed.
The game's frame rate cap forces the GPU to operate at maximum speed to achieve as many frames as possible. In Rainbow Six, your CPU acts as a bottleneck, restricting the GPU from reaching full performance and limiting usage to around 100%. In Unreal, the CPU has little impact, allowing the GPU to potentially deliver over 500 frames per second without constraints.
