GPU Not Overclocking
GPU Not Overclocking
Hello everyone, I've overclocked before and it worked well. However, now on GPU-TWEAK II it keeps showing my GPU speed at 0% and voltage at 0. All settings are set to the lowest level, even lower than stock speed, and whenever I try to adjust them, it always returns to the lowest setting. I own an Asus GTX 970 Turbo and have used GPU-TWEAK II for overclocking consistently. Thanks everyone!
My GPU would sometimes drop to 324 MHz, but I discovered the issue. It could be that the power setting is on "BALANCED" or "POWER SAVING," which restricts GPU power on PCI-e lanes. If that's the case, changing it to "HIGH PERFORMANCE" might resolve the problem...
It seems my power plan was already configured for high performance. Could the repeated strain from previous overclocking have affected its functionality? The graphics card is operating normally, which suggests it's not entirely faulty, regardless of the situation.
Unfortunately, my power plan was already set to high performance. Could it be that the repeated strain from overclocking in the past has affected its performance? The graphics card is functioning properly, so it doesn’t appear completely faulty, though.
I’m not an expert, but...
I wouldn’t give up just yet. To test your idea about the GPU aging, you could move your graphics card to another computer and attempt overclocking. If the outcome changes, it suggests your GPU is still okay and the issue might lie elsewhere in your PC. I know it’s hard to ask someone else to adjust their system, but the extra performance gain is worth trying. I don’t know about yours, but my GPU’s default settings seem too low.
Before giving up, try reinstalling the NVIDIA driver and using MSI AfterBurner to see if the problem continues.
Best of luck!
Yeah, I've already tried reinstalling the nVidia driver and using another OC tool, which caused some unusual effects. When I overclocked it, the whole screen flashed bright colors like red, green, and blue, and I had to restart the computer. Also, this might be a long shot, but could I just remove the GPU and reinstall it? Wouldn't that affect nothing else on my system?
I don't believe swapping parts will fix the issue. It's possible your PSU is aging and may not deliver enough power anymore. Over time, OC tasks demand more power, which can affect performance. Things could be different—so it's wise to check your graphics card's health first before jumping to other solutions.
Use MSI AB to obtain the newest GPUz file, then check the sensors section to identify issues with your card. Focus on the "PerfCap Reason" field within the sensors tab.
Hi everyone! It seems MSI Afterburner performs well, while GPU tweaks prevent me from overclocking and Precision-X causes my screen to flash during overclocks. I'm curious about the reason behind this.
It's strange you didn't heed my suggestion about MSI After Burner earlier, but don't worry! I'm glad your GPU is functioning properly.
