I own a 1070 Strix. When applying MSI Afterburner, I set it for higher fan speeds. But when the fans shouldn't run normally, Afterburner keeps forcing them on, producing that strange clicking noise similar to an old hard drive each time they try to restart. Removing custom profiles resolves it easily, but is there a method to adjust without losing that profile?

Jonathanese explains the setup process for Kryonaut, mentioning the BIOS version and recommending the latest MSI AB. They advise adjusting the curve properly and setting 'fan speed update period' and 'Temperature Hysteresis' to zero. They also suggest using a fan at maximum speed connected to the PSU for better performance.

Hello, adjusted the fan speed to 0 in the fan curve. Also activated the 'user-defined' setting. If this doesn't resolve the issue, it might indicate a compatibility problem between MSI Afterburner and your GPU. Consider using ASUS's software instead.

It seems you're having trouble understanding the ASUS software, and you think it's not very good.

If you're concerned about noise and temperatures, consider having someone replace the stock paste with a better quality paste for your GPU. Also, update the latest GPU BIOS—older versions may lead to issues. Use GPU-Z to check your BIOS version.

I'm working with Kryonaut and my BIOS is up-to-date, since no newer versions appear to be available. (STRIX-OC)

Jonathanese is trying Kryonaut and mentions their BIOS is up-to-date, noting no new releases appear. They recommend using MSI AB BIOS, ensuring the curve was adjusted correctly (previously set to 1% speed). If issues persist, they suggest modifying the fan speed update period and setting Temperature Hysteresis to zero.
