Hey everyone, I just acquired a used GPU—previously a 3060 and now upgraded to a 3080 Founders Edition. It’s not showing up in my system, no fans, lights, or signal detected. I checked Task Manager, but it wasn’t visible. However, when I plug it back in, everything works fine. I’m not very tech-savvy; I mainly play games. Could anyone share some tips? My specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G at 3.9 GHz, old 3060 with 12GB GDDR5, 32GB DDR4 RAM, and a 500GB NVMe SSD.

Maybe there is something wrong with the 3080 because a card of the same generation should be an easy refit. Did you make sure the card is correctly inserted in the PCIe slot and the power cables are inserted all the way in ? You did not list your Power Supply specs. If it has insufficient power it may be the reason the 3080 is not working. In case you haven't tried yet, You can use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then reinstall the Nvidia drivers. It is possible the driver for the 3060 prevents the 3080 from working. Another test is to try your 3080 in another computer. If it refuses to work even in another computer then it is probably dead. Time to contact the seller to inquire about the condition of the graphics card. Good luck !

It won't start, it either boots or doesn't. If the package isn't sufficient, it should still begin but will activate protection for excessive load.

Testing with a different PSU works well. Running an "impossible" scenario is preferable to skipping it and later realizing the problem. Being improbable doesn't mean it's impossible.
