Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I’m experiencing some issues with my RX 6600XT on an MSI B550M PRO-VDH motherboard running a 5600G. It’s been stable for gaming and benchmarks, but when I connected to another PC via RDP, both screens went off simultaneously after shutdown. After rebooting, I tried turning it back on manually, but it wouldn’t power up. I managed to see the display through the IGUI, which confirmed the GPU wasn’t recognized by AMD software or the device manager. I also noticed the fan spinning when the card powers up/off. So far, I’ve tried several fixes—rebooting, clearing CMOS, reinstalling drivers, restoring BIOS settings, and even using system restore—but nothing’s working. I’m currently resetting and installing a fresh Windows 11, and I’m hoping that will resolve it. Any advice or help would be really appreciated!

Hello, is your graphics card recognized in the BIOS? Consider testing the second PCIe port. If that doesn’t work, verify if you still have any manufacturer warranty for the card.

I’ve checked the MSI BIOS files, but I’m still unsure where to look. You mentioned you don’t have an extra x16 slot in your motherboard.

It's a used item, so the warranty likely won't apply. I only acquired it about two weeks ago... No, it wasn't detected in the BIOS— I located the component and it indicated the slot was vacant.

Ah, I've never purchased expensive computer components before. In Norway, it's required by law to offer a five-year consumer warranty.

Absolutely, I couldn’t resist. It was a half-price compared to the new version. I’m considering a few more alternatives—maybe install it on one of my friends’ systems to check if it shows up. I’ll also try updating the motherboard BIOS to see if that makes a difference. Still puzzled about how it managed to run well under gaming and benchmarks before suddenly failing in Windows RDP.

Enhancing this entry with fresh details and possibly my most recent update. After several attempts, I successfully detected the card using Windows and BIOS. No driver updates or BIOS modifications were needed—it just shows up or disappears randomly. It works for gaming and benchmarking but becomes undetected after a power cycle. I’m considering hardware problems but also think it might relate to the motherboard or power supply unit. I might take it to a shop for inspection. Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated.
