The update includes new thermal paste and pads. Now the screen stays on but doesn’t go black. Temperatures stay around 60°C during idle, and they spike high when launching games. I submitted a log file to HWinfo for the first time, though I’m not sure if it was done right. Anyone know why my GPU behaves this way? CPU temps are normal, the case is open, so airflow should be sufficient. log.csv

It might not be working properly due to a faulty mount or paste setup. Could you tell me the specific GPU model you're using? Also, does your system have any fan control enabled?

I've reattached it several times yet nothing has altered. This card is a 2080 super. I could set it to manual at zero fans, but it's currently auto on the MSI afterburner.

I don’t have access to the log file you shared. Based on what you mentioned, the Afterburner would stop the fan at zero RPM until reaching 60°C for the 2000 series cards without fan mode. For the 2080 Super, typical fan speeds and temperatures during normal gaming depend on the cooling setup—usually moderate speeds with stable temps unless overclocked.

It's a Gigabyte GeForce Rtx 2080 Super. Under heavy use, the GPU usually hits its peak around mid-70s and the fans stay quiet since they produce little noise. I purchased it at 0% and after about 5 minutes the idle temperature rose to 65°C.
