I assembled a cost-effective setup using parts from previous builds, focusing on the GPU GTX 770. With generic drivers working well, I encountered an issue setting the resolution to 1920x1080. Testing various older NVIDIA drivers didn’t resolve the problem—some caused a black screen or no display at all, sometimes showing a white screen. After each attempt, I performed a GPU DDU. Recently, during the installation process (around the first flash), there was a brief 30-second period where the drivers appeared partially installed and displayed 1920x1080, followed by a blackout. My goal is to install the drivers up to that point for a 1080p output suitable for office work and light browsing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Consider visiting the manufacturer's site for any upgraded prebuilt PCs to obtain exclusive drivers. If unavailable, explore the motherboard vendor's offerings to find alternatives.

The motherboard you have is an Asus P6t model, and it isn't a ready-made unit.

I’m not an expert, but I’ll see what I can discover this evening after work.

after my initial post I set up the drivers through the device manager, but the screen went black again. late at night I powered it off and fell asleep. The next morning I turned it back on and it worked smoothly for around thirty hours. After that it restarted, though it looks different now. The drivers are installed and display an image in 1080p until the welcome message appears. Then the desktop shows for a few seconds before the screen goes black again with no signal. This made me wonder if the issue relates to the NVIDIA control panel. Also, the drivers I used via the device manager were from 2020, which isn’t the latest version.

I attempted to set up Windows 7 and the only driver available was from 2015. The problem remains unchanged, but now it displays a solid blue screen instead of a black one.
