I've been without Fallout 4 for a few months now, and suddenly my GPU stats are all over the place. Used to hit around 72fps smoothly, but now I'm stuck at 45-48fps with only 30-40% GPU usage. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? It's really frustrating since I was used to super smooth gameplay. My specs are: 6600k CPU, 4.1ghz GPU, two 970s at 1450mhz, and 16 gigabytes RAM.

Check if any background processes are consuming GPU resources. Try clearing your PC or processor to free up usage.

Hey there! Your 980ti is handling around 40 FPS, but it's only running at about 45% usage.

No, it wouldn't display on my monitor that it's being used above 30-40% if something is consuming it. It's just frustrating because I haven't experienced any issues since the release until now.

Clean everything thoroughly, restart the system completely. After that, launch Fallout 4 or a benchmark tool to evaluate its performance.

I focused on confirming it was only Fallout 4. I also spotted this cleaning processor part—lol, my thermal paste seems super dirty.

If my PC specs dropped unexpectedly, I’d first restart it to check if the issue was related to the PC or other programs. Then I’d disassemble it thoroughly and give it a clean.

Wait, you're asking if it's the only Fallout 4 running at low performance? I thought it was just one of them struggling with low FPS and high usage.
