PC Info: Ryzen 5 2600X 8GB 2x4 G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 2800MHz CL15 - (currently running 2133MHz) Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro WiFi Bios Rev. F2 XFX RX580 8GB PNY GeForce GTX 690 Thermaltake 750W PSU I've encountered problems with my GPU fan on the GTX 690 fluctuating erratically even when idle. It sometimes gradually increases to full speed and remains there for a while. I've attempted to adjust it via MSI Afterburner, but it doesn't change the fan speed at all. I'm concerned this could harm the fan or the card.

The 690 is reaching an advanced age, possibly indicating the fan controller is failing. Compared to the AMD card, the GeForce Experience/Nvidia control panel offers limited functionality for consumer graphics cards.

If this happens, I’m counting on it to continue until I can afford a better graphics card. It feels unpredictable about whether it will work, but the forum activity has since returned to normal.
