Your HP desktop has an old i5 2400 and a GTX 1050 Ti. After two years, the motherboard stopped recognizing the GPU, even though fans spin. It works on other systems but not with your setup. The GPU isn’t showing up in Device Manager. Please check connections and power settings.

I swapped out the motherboard and checked the BIOS. It matches the version from the previous board.

The other motherboard failed too, but I'm unsure if the BIOS is identical since it's designed for the third generation Intel processor.

What kind of motherboard are you using? HP designs their own and has specific models, though compatible third-party options exist. Sometimes older models fit better. The BIOS version and its updates might be crucial. It’s likely a bug in the latest release prevents it from working, so an older version could be functional. This one seems like a straightforward starting point. Edited July 28, 2022 by Bombastinator

Thanks, perhaps it's the bios since the one from 2013 is outdated.

Cmos reset clears previous modifications from the original BIOS on the device. If the issue is related to the BIOS, updating it may be necessary. It could help to check the HP website for the latest BIOS version.
