Hi, I bought a prebuilt system around two months ago and wasn’t very familiar with assembling computers. I noticed something odd about the GPU connections. My GPU is a 3060 (GIGABYTE PCI-Ex16x nVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB DDR6 OC LHR) and it’s powered by a Chieftec 750W PSU (Chieftec Proton 750W 80PLUS BRONZE). I found out the power cable has one end on the GPU side and two ends on the PSU side. One end is a bit longer while the other is much shorter. The longer one is fully connected, and the shorter one is just loosely tied to it. My question is whether both cables should be plugged in or if only one should be used now. I checked the manual but didn’t find any guidance. Both seem reasonable—since it’s a modular PSU, loose connections shouldn’t exist, so everything should be connected. However, because one cable is noticeably longer than the other, it makes sense to use just the shorter one for convenience. I’ve attached some photos; could you help me figure out the best solution? Thanks Smile

It's a daisy chain setup where a single PSU connection branches into two PCIe Power ports (typically 8 pins each). Your GPU requires just one of these, leaving the remaining port unused. The design neatly organizes the connections as illustrated.

It's okay. Certain GPUs need two power cables, which is why the zip-tie power plug exists. No cause for concern.
