GPU ceases to show anything beyond the Windows interface?
Hi,
I’m dealing with a dual-screen configuration where my main monitor is linked to both the PC and laptop. When I turn on the PC, the BIOS logo and Windows loading screen show up on the secondary monitor. Once that happens, the main monitor doesn’t display anything unless the laptop is removed. The PC functions properly when only the main monitor is connected to it. Stress tests have passed without issues. This issue began recently—previously, both devices worked smoothly together.
Specs:
GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 4070 Super
Monitor: MSI G255F
Could someone help figure out what’s causing this?
System details should be provided alongside any troubleshooting posts. Include full specifications such as CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, PSU, chassis, OS, and monitor type. Mention the age of the power supply unit and the BIOS version for your motherboard. Also note whether both the PC and laptop functioned properly with the monitor connected together.
The complete PC specifications are listed below.
GPU: Asus tuff rtx 4070 Super
Monitor: MSI G255F
CPU: 14600KF
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 Gaming X (Bios Version F11D)
Ram: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
PSU: Deepcool px850g (1 year old)
Chassis: Chinese PC Case with good airflow
OS: Windows 11
Laptop: HP Victus 15 FA0033dx
Both devices are connected to the monitor via separate HDMI cables. They do not function together. I previously switched them using the Monitor OSD.
Check the manual for that typical monitor—it should include a button to select between the two inputs.
