Hello there, tech enthusiast. I’m dealing with an unusual issue and wanted your insights on what might be happening or how to move forward. I recently purchased a Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX and after installation, I experienced minor freezes. I ran some tests and found that the GPU was generating VRAM errors. I’ve attached a photo for reference: Spoiler Now, after reaching out to the retailer, I returned my card, and after a month, I received an RMA. So far everything looks fine. However, right after unboxing, I decided to push the system hard by running some intensive tests to see if the new card would trigger the same problems. I performed several checks, loading CPU, VRAM, and GPU usage to 100% at once. At first, no issues were detected. But during the test, my 420W GPU reached nearly 700W for a short period. Attaching the second image for context: Spoiler No overclocking was done on the machine. All other settings are standard, except for X.M.P. usage, as shown in the picture. It seems everything is functioning normally except during that high-load window where power draw spiked significantly. I’m curious—does this kind of behavior occur under normal conditions? How can I better diagnose any potential power-related problems? Should I consider another RMA or explore alternatives from other manufacturers? Thanks in advance,
Cheers!

HWMonitor often has problems with recent hardware and isn't dependable. Consider using HWInfo for better monitoring. The ~700W reading was likely a software glitch, not an actual output from the card.

If it functions properly, I won't need to be concerned. Contemporary premium GPUs may experience substantial power surges beyond their rated capacity. ATX standards are designed to handle this.

HW Monitor performed similarly to OCCT. I also reviewed the chart there, and both systems displayed identical usage patterns.
