GPU appears in BIOS and "ROG Gaming Center," yet Windows refuses to display it.
I moved my NVMe SSD with OS and a 2.5" SSD from my gaming laptop (i7 8750H + 1070) to a desktop build (R3 3200G, 1070, B450). Initially, after booting it took time and several restarts plus driver installations to get everything working properly. Eventually it functioned well. Now I placed the SSDs back in my laptop but Windows can't locate my laptop 1070. The GPU appears in the BIOS and Asus ROG gaming center. When I boot from integrated graphics, Intel graphics show up; with discrete graphics nothing appears in Task Manager or Device Manager. I've tried uninstalling updates, booting in safe mode, removing NVIDIA drivers, deleting GeForce Experience, and uninstalled everything from the device manager, but it still doesn't work. Please help! I've searched online for two pages but haven't found a solution. Thanks!
Typically these moves need the SysPrep command to clear all drivers and reset Windows to a clean state. This helps avoid the blue screens caused by faulty drivers. Run sysprep while the drive is on the desktop before reinstalling drivers from the manufacturer, not from Microsoft.
