The site I've used before is https://www.speedtest.net/. No, I didn't download anything from here or click any buttons. Just clicked "Go" and ran a test—that's all there is to it. When it comes to programs running in the back, I turned off everything that starts up automatically and did a clean boot. Right now, when I try these steps again, I can't get the same problem from before where my ping drops just after starting a game. It might have been some program in the background making this happen.

I just did a quick check on speedtest.net. It's been a while since I checked my internet speed, so here to see how it looks now. You can switch around different servers and try that. Turning off background apps helps find the problem. If the issue comes back later, you can turn things back on one by one with breaks in between to spot which ones are causing trouble.

I noticed when I checked my results this morning that my internet speed was slow on some servers and fast on others. So I tried the ones it liked and nothing changed there. But this happened before I did a "Clean Boot." The internet is still working perfectly, too. Speedtest.net hasn't shown any drop in speed either. I'm going to run my PC like this for a few days if I don't see the problem come back. I have a guess about which program might cause it, but I'll test that out too. If the Clean Boot fixed the issue, then good. Thanks so much for the help and advice.
