You're in Canada with a CPU and need stable performance for Photoshop, Lightroom, and music production. You have a current Intel PC with 32GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM and often hit memory limits in heavy projects. You're considering upgrading to 64GB with a Ryzen build, aiming under $500, prioritizing stability over gaming. I recommend pairing the 5900X with a compatible 64GB DDR4 RAM module (typically 2400–3200MHz) in dual-channel configuration for optimal stability. Look for a motherboard with robust memory support—Intel Z690 or Z790 with strong DIMM slots and good overclocking potential. Sticking to the same socket (LGA 1700) ensures compatibility. This setup should keep your workflow smooth without breaking a sweat.

For maximum stability, I suggest 4x 16 GB, 3200 MHz memory paired together, using the closest possible clock speeds. If your motherboard supports it, adding ECC is a good idea.

I have been operating the CL16 Gskill Trident Neo-Z with 5900x and Dark Hero on 1867 infinity fabric/3733 using DOCP with stock timings. All slots remain completed (4x16 modules). No problems have occurred over the past three months.

You chose 4x16 intentionally or it was just a more favorable offer? If you pick this path, should you wait for a four-stick set, or can two 2x16 kits provide the same results?

A more favorable offer was found—two 32GB units were priced lower than the single 64GB option.
