Got a non-backlit keyboard that I bought and now it won't light up?
I have an Asus Vivobook 17 X712JA laptop with a non backlit keyboard that I swapped out from a standard to a backlit one using accessories.com. There was a specific slot in the motherboard where the ribbon cable for the backlight goes, so I connected it there. After trying to reinstall the keyboard drivers, it still won't turn on. What can I do next?
Do you know if the cable is facing the right way? If you are using linux, maybe you need to add some settings in grub... Can I ask how did you connect the keyboard to that plastic cover on your laptop? Did you use a soldering gun, hot glue gun, or did you buy a whole thing with the keyboard already stuck on it? I have some trouble with this: https://forums.
