Got a new router from Huawei that uses LTE and CPE, but it's not working with my wired internet.
So i bought a new huawei LTE CPE B2368-66 router and it worked fine at first. But lately, when i play games on my PC, sometimes my wired internet cuts out randomly. This is happening often or just once or twice. I have no idea why my pc loses the connection while gaming. On top of that, my little brother never has this problem with gaming. I don't know what's causing my computer to lose internet and he doesn't. PLEASE HELP
I think it depends on why you feel your internet connection is acting weird. I'm assuming you mean you have a hardwired cable (like Ethernet) going from the router to your computer. Can you check if that actual physical wire is broken or disconnected? Are there little red lights blinking off? If you open up Event Viewer in your computer, do you see an error message about that port? To fix this properly, just make a test call by opening Command Prompt and typing "ping" to the router's IP address. Keep hitting it. When games start acting bad, check if those ping numbers are missing or low. Usually, if you have trouble with your wires or get packet loss (missing data), it is probably just a poor quality cable. There are so many cheap ones out there that they break easily and act strange. You should only buy cables made of pure copper wire, not cheap plastic stuff marked "CCA." Also, the wire needs to be at least 24-gauge size. A standard CAT5e (Cat5E) cable is enough for full gigabit speeds, so why spend more? Just get them if they are cheaper than that standard.
Right now I am playing Warzone 2.0 and it stops working right away when the game closes, so I can't reconnect or start again. It's super annoying. But I have an ethernet wire plugged into my router. While I'm in-game, I lose connection and it says lost connection to Steam. When I check my computer, there is no internet icon showing up. The issue started after installing the new router; the old one didn't make me lose that connection problem. I'll try using constant ping and a different ethernet cable next time.
Mostly what matters is whether your internet connection is down, or maybe a cable broke, or even if the software on the PC is broken. You'll have to test it out yourself; you can't really tell the difference just by playing a game. It will give you that same error no matter what's causing the problem.
You have to check if your router works by typing ipconfig /all. The gateway IP is where your router sits. If the ping fails but your game still breaks, try pinging 8.8.8.8 instead. This just tells you that internet isn't working and it's tough on mobile broadband because of random interference.
So I think I found where my trouble comes from, but I don't know how to test it or fix it. My main guess is my little brother because he uses a wired cable too. But like I said, he doesn't have the problem of disconnecting from the router. But I think he's causing me to lose connection with the router. When we both play games at the same time, I keep losing connection. It happened many times. Even when he is at school everything works fine, but when he gets home and starts playing on his computer, something happens and I start losing connection.
Having one game crash while two computers try to play it isn't rare at all. It really depends on the specific game. If you just can't even get a web browser to open, that might mean your computers have the same IP address. The best thing is if both machines use DHCP to set up their networks and your router stops letting duplicates happen. You can check what IPs are used on each computer by typing ipconfig /all in the Command Prompt.
We don't play the same games. But I checked my IP address and it wasn't matching up. The last digits didn't match either, so I'm stuck in a loop of confusion. The issue started right away after we got that new router. My mom also said she loses her WiFi connection with her laptop.
