I've received instructions from Solar City to link to your router via Ethernet. This is to provide updates on solar usage or to ensure warranty validity. Since Spectrum's service is unreliable, I switched to an Arris SB6190. However, with only one Ethernet port available for our large Google Next Mesh system, I purchased a NIGTHAWK CM 1200. After the Spectrum team couldn't resolve the single-connection issue and couldn't connect the Tesla monitor, they determined it was operating in bridge mode and advised contacting Netgear. They didn’t suggest any changes but explained it’s related to port aggregation. Is this accurate? Let me know if you need further clarification.

The CM1200 is a regular cable modem, not a router or modem combo. The four Ethernet ports are designed for linking multiple devices together, allowing you to achieve speeds over one Gigabit per second if Spectrum ever upgrades. From what I understand, Spectrum provides decent support for customer-owned modems—your setup will reflect that level of service. Ideally, you’d want a router in addition, as the Google mesh system typically offers two Ethernet ports per unit. Connecting one to the modem and another to your solar city device should work. The suggested order is: CM1200 → Router → all connected devices.

It has two ports on the main, but it doesn’t function properly from them. I wasn’t sure if a solution existed on Google, and I can’t locate any updates there either.
