Hi, welcome! I'm just getting started with overclocking and building my PC. I'll be putting together my system soon and will begin overclocking my CPU. My current setup includes an Asrock z170 Extreme 4 (Bios version 7.2), an i5 7600k processor, and a Be quiet pure rock slim cooler. How much can I push the CPU?

It depends on various elements.
Take a look if you're starting out: open each drop-down menu (the blue ones) and scroll down the Excel page he created to find some 7600k`s listed there and check what settings they used.

I plan to attempt a 4.4/4.5 overclock since the cooler can handle up to 120w TDP and only features a 92 mm fan.

You're aware that updating the BIOS on that motherboard is likely necessary to use that CPU, right? And to achieve that, you'll need a Sky Lake CPU. Why didn't you opt for a Z270 motherboard?

Kasper Jorgensen explains the situation clearly. You'll likely need to update the BIOS on the motherboard to use the CPU, and you'll require a Sky Lake CPU. He also mentions not purchasing a Z270 motherboard, noting he saved for nearly a year before making the decision. He contacted Asrock, who will provide replacement chips with the updated BIOS.
