I don’t really focus on AM5 details. AM4 isn’t too far ahead, but it’s not essential for me. The system works well with the games and work I plan to do. Saving money by choosing DDR4 RAM makes sense unless AM5 offers something special I’d want.

I checked the first two thoughts—they seemed good, but I really need WiFi access. I’m also a bit doubtful about mATX; there’s no clear reason or explanation, which makes me wonder if it offers fewer features than expected.

You have flexibility in choosing a Wi-Fi card slot or a USB dongle—note the latter can be worth $30 but functions well. These components fit ATX form factors. Are you interested in mATX models? For that, the Lian Li A3 case is recommended: https://lian-li.com/product/a3-matx/. It offers solid value. Gamersnexus suggests the MSI MAG B550 if you need extra features; it includes a second 2.5G Ethernet port (same PCB and VRM design). https://www.amazon.com/MSI-MAG-B550-TOMA...B089CWDHFZ Another ITX option at $100 was used for the Ryzen 9 5950X with the same B550 chipset: https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-A520M-ITX-...WLVR2?th=1. A drawback of the Asus model is that RAM speeds won’t exceed around 3400MHz, which isn’t a major issue since the jump from 3400 to 3700MHz is small. HardwareUnboxed shared test results on Reddit—temperatures reached 71°C and voltages hit 76°C, but these numbers didn’t significantly affect performance even though MSI performed better technically.

It seems you're questioning why you need additional hardware when the component is already part of the motherboard you shared. Your goal of using an ATX setup is clear.

I can tell you that using a WiFi 6E or WIFI 7 card (with the latest 6GHz band) is a better option than the older WiFI 5 on the Asus motherboard. Placing them in the lowest PCIE slot on the mainboard works well since those cards are essentially the same module with PCIE and USB ports. Upgrading the WiFi card can be tricky because the antenna connectors are quite delicate. Another reason I don’t suggest Asus is my past experience: 1) previous design problems or other issues in the last two years, 2) I’ve never received any technical support, and 3) they only contacted me after a recent controversy involving GN. They didn’t reply, so it’s unlikely they’re serious about improving their service. That’s why I don’t recommend Asus unless there are better alternatives available. For AM4 boards, there are other good options to consider.

7600 matches delivering 5700x3D performance forms the core draw of the platform, enhanced by its forward-thinking design. Some high-end MATX boards may outperform standard ATX units, especially in VRM efficiency for CPU power delivery. The WiFi feature adds another layer; however, it’s not essential for functionality. PCPartPicker provides a detailed list: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-core processor ($197.96 on Amazon), ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi AM5 motherboard ($139.99 on Newegg), Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith Gaming 32 GB DDR5 memory ($84.97 on Amazon), Western Digital Blue SN580 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive ($99.74 on Amazon), XFX Speedster MERC 319 Black Radeon RX 7800 XT (16 GB) ($429.99 on Amazon), and a Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX case ($72.98 on Amazon). The system also includes a Cooler Master MWE GOLD 750W modular power supply ($74.99 on Newegg). Overall cost comes to approximately $1100.62, covering shipping, taxes, and available discounts. Selected parts reflect optimal choices based on parameters generated by PCPartPicker on October 9, 2024 at 19:47 EDT.

I’m not overly worried about future-proofing. An AM4 CPU works well for me. I mainly need a Wi-Fi connection since the router is right by my desk at school, but at home it’s farther away, and I want the convenience of being able to connect wirelessly.
