I reside in a remote area and recently gained internet access, realizing a modem is necessary. My router lacks built-in connectivity, so I aim to use just a modem. The speeds remain modest at around 6mbps, which is quite limited compared to the faster options available. I don’t want to compromise on performance by opting for a lower bandwidth solution.

They have a local ISP named unwired broadband. I could access the roof and inspect the antenna for any details if necessary.

When it comes to WISP, you don’t require a modem. They suggested using their own solution instead. Their recommendation was to implement a CPE device.

I'm not certain if everyone rents routers, and I don't want to sign up. Maybe I can reach out tomorrow.

Maybe your router doesn't work with your device.

Ensure you're certain about this. Reaching out to your WISP won't cause any harm.
