Good idea for Minecraft update?
Good idea for Minecraft update?
I've started revisiting MC and put together a list of what seems like a solid and necessary update. This is it? (Also, please don’t try to post on another forum as your own—this was a proper planning session.)
1.1x Wood & Cook Update
- Spawn rates for XP orbs are now around 1 in 100.
- New enchantment: Splitting (I-V): At each level, the odds improve—two blocks of wood are more likely instead of one, starting at 5% at level I and reaching about 25% at V. This applies only to axes.
- Apple Pie is now included: it can be crafted like a pumpkin pie, just with an apple replacing the pumpkin.
- Apple trees have been added to the game. They don’t require the actual apple blocks from Pam’s Harvest craft; instead, a textured block with red shades would work better and likely perform better.
- Chests now feature a distinct texture for each wood type, with oak as the default.
This is just a suggestion.
==Another idea for mulch: three mulch and a dirt block can be combined to make Mulch Dirt, which boosts sapling growth by 10% on it, and after being turned into Mulch Farmland, increases crop growth chances by another 10%.
Reasons for this change: Minecraft currently feels like a 'mine or fight' experience with minimal content beyond exploration (and finding guardians to battle). To truly enrich the game, it needs more variety in farming, woodcutting, cooking, and other activities. Having played MC for a long time, I value the effort put into making exploration rewarding. While I sometimes prefer not to explore, turning these tasks into something familiar would really elevate the experience.
Also, please consider adding mod features like inventory tweaks—they’re straightforward and won’t affect performance, but they definitely improve the game.
-Brown Mooshrooms exist and look similar to red ones, only brown with brown caps. This would make brown mushrooms easier to obtain and fit better in the game’s design.
-You can now cook rotten flesh to make leather, offering a viable alternative to traditional leather and preventing waste from rotting food.
-For balance, introduce a leather scrap that behaves like ingot nuggets—combining four or nine together yields one leather (so roughly 4 scraps per leather).
-Sushi can be crafted using dried kelp and any type of raw fish. The exact recipe isn’t clear, but it might involve three dried kelp pieces plus a fish.
-Stripping wood blocks now yields a 10% chance to drop bark, which has the burn time of a stick.
-Three bark pieces can be used to craft mulch, which when applied to crops and saplings increases growth rates by 10%.
-Wheat, carrots, and potatoes grow in 1–3 stages.
-Beetroot has a 25% chance to reach the next growth stage.
-Saplings have a 25% chance to advance to the next stage.
-Melon and pumpkin seeds grow in 1–3 stages.
-Beef Stew now heals 5.5 drumsticks (though this might be too high; steak alone heals 4).
-Mutton Stew heals 4.5 drumsticks.
-Chicken Stew heals 4.5 drumsticks.
-Fortune now increases XP orb drops from leaves, with a 3% boost per level.
-Jam is made from three sweet berries and a glass bottle, healing 1.5 drumsticks.
-Jam on Toast comes from a bottle of jam and bread, healing 4 drumsticks.
-Smoked Steak is prepared by cooking steak in a smoker with bark, healing 5 drumsticks.
-Mutton Smoked yields 3.5 drumsticks.
-Chicken Smoked gives 3.5 drumsticks.
-Rabbit Smoked provides 3.5 drumsticks.
-Pork Smoked heals 4.5 drumsticks.
-Salmon Smoked increases XP orb chances from leaves, with a slight percentage boost.
-Using an empty bottle in a cactus grants a bottle of water.
-Mushroom Stew now supports up to 16 items.
-In forests, birds chirp and leaves rustle; in cold biomes, feel the wind. Deserts need only light breeze. Minecraft needs deeper sound immersion to captivate players. When the music fades, these ambient sounds should gently fade in and out, adding another layer of atmosphere. Often, when the music stops (unless you prefer), silence can feel empty. It’s not about constant noise—it’s about enhancing the experience subtly.)
Feel free to include all the requested changes whenever you're ready.
