Good hardware, low fps CS:GO
Hey, I'm using an i7-8700k at 4.4ghz with a GTX 1070. I'm facing an issue with CS:GO where I'm only utilizing about 30% of the CPU and GPU, yet I'm still getting under 100fps. Multicore rendering is enabled, and I went through a thread from last year mentioning the problem was "the bios." I'm not sure what to do, but I play on 4:3 1024x768 at low settings except for shadows. Any advice would be great!
Same issue at 1080p? That’s a really low resolution. It’s like using generic settings without a proper GPU driver, which is pretty bad.
Many individuals, particularly experts, experiment with video configurations.
It's just a test, not a suggestion to play a certain way. The default setting for 1024x786 is "driver not loaded."
That’s acceptable. I’m only curious about whether there’s a GPU driver issue that might not be apparent at that specific resolution. It doesn’t concern the overall quality—it’s just that it works with XGA.
Apologies for the delay, I was occupied. I've tested running native 1440p and 1080p, but neither improved the FPS. I've also used windowed fullscreen without any change.
It seems like a restriction rather than real data, with 1024x786 being one-fourth of the GPU data compared to 1440p, yet the frame rate stays the same. I’m curious if this affects the CPU workload significantly. If it’s a BIOS issue, updating the motherboard’s BIOS from the manufacturer should help. The model isn’t specified, so I can’t determine the exact change.
