The changes aren’t great, but they’re mostly okay. It’s really not worth it if I need to protect my reputation.

Sure, for competitive gaming like Siege you’ll want a reliable connection. Wireless usually offers better performance and less interference, but make sure it supports high-speed gaming. If you need consistent lag-free play, consider a wired setup.

Stalker suggests the third entry (Call of Pripyat) enhanced with mods. The description mentions Spoiler Elex as a third-person RPG potentially set in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s described as a Gothic, fantasy apocalypse experience where criminals are confined within a magical force field sphere. Are you interested in a narrative or a particular theme? If you prefer Fallout-style games, options are limited, especially in first person. Most titles focus on third person or management perspectives like This War of Mine, Sheltered & State of Decay. It could be considered a simplified version of Little Big Planet but with only single levels on PS3. Some players enjoyed it, and the developers added some requested features. For exploration enthusiasts, it’s a worthwhile choice if that’s all you’re after.

Primarily a zombie theme means ongoing danger is always present

Third person works similarly to Elex, though it lacks a clear bird's-eye perspective.

I’m not considering Guessing Deadrising 1-4. I haven’t tried it, but “How To Survive” could be a better pick. Infestation the New Z was essentially "The WarZ" rebranded, offering free dayZ-style gameplay on Steam at no cost. It included fitting objects from its launch. TotalBiscuit (passing away) reviewed it when it was called The WarZ, but I’m unfamiliar with the details since then. Savage Lands received low ratings. I played only a small portion of it, which felt like a single-player Viking Rust experience. The Resident Evil titles (Umbrella Corps included) are quite intense. I enjoyed Resident Evil 6, but prefer solo adventures like that. System Shock 2 was another choice—it involved battling cyborg zombies in a challenging way, though I struggled and gave up early. For a lighter challenge, the Wolfenstein: The Old Blood mod offers a "Doom Super Shotgun" moment before facing a repetitive boss battle. If you seek a tougher test, the Dust Mod for Fallout New Vegas (needs all DLC) provides relentless combat, though it demands special save files. Frost in Fallout 4 is another free mod, but it needs specific save files and all DLC. I haven’t played any of these yet, except watching others. Another free option exists, possibly unrelated to Half-Life 2. No More Room in Hell is a realistic survival game focused on a post-apocalyptic setting, with emphasis on building bases that can be damaged. Recommendations are limited now unless you’re interested in Metro Redux—the upcoming title.
