I think I’ll end up with a 2060 RTX if prices drop even more.

A 9400F is suitable for a 2060, but I recommend thinking about AMD's Ryzen 3600 instead. It offers more overall power, comparable or improved single-core performance and SMT, bringing it nearer to an i7-8700K. Although the gap may not be obvious right now—particularly in everyday tasks like gaming—it will definitely outperform an i5 when you upgrade your graphics card later.

No, I don't have any information about whether you own this chip.

There's no guarantee that it'll happen, since the 1660 super was introduced to compete with AMD below the 2060.

Considering my upcoming upgrade, plus that Amazon link about Intel micro motherboards, I really hope they offer boards with two slots and an external X16 PCIe port. It would be great to find something MicroATX compatible.

Consider a Ryzen processor such as the 3600. The 9400F is not a good investment.

You might want to consider the Ryzen 5 3600 instead.

Avoid overspending on the board. This offers a more practical solution: PCPartPicker provides a detailed part list with item pricing. The CPU mentioned is an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-core processor priced at $117.68, available from Amazon. The motherboard is an MSI B450M BAZOOKA V2 Micro ATX AM4 board costing $82.99 on Amazon. All prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts, bringing the total to $200.67. This recommendation helps you save money by choosing a non-X CPU with minimal performance loss and a better RAM speed compatibility board.
