You're experiencing a puzzling change in your internet performance. Despite stable speeds for general browsing and streaming, your gaming latency has jumped significantly—from 30-50ms to 200-400ms. The speedtest results also show a drop from 15-20ms to around 80ms. It seems the issue isn't with your setup itself but possibly with external factors affecting your connection during gameplay. Switching from wired to WiFi improved latency back to 20ms, but the download/upload speeds are much lower due to poor wireless conditions in your room. This suggests interference or bandwidth limitations on the wireless link might be impacting performance during games.

It seems there may have been a disruption in your home’s electrical system affecting the powerline adapters. A recently installed device in another part of the house could be responsible for the problems.

It turned out to be a completely unexpected nightlight that my sister discovered in her room and turned on... and she’s now 12.

Essentially any device that adds "noise" to the electrical grid at the incorrect frequency. Another concern with powerline is that the wiring in your home acts like a single large unshielded antenna; nearby transmitters operating on the same frequency can generate interference, disrupting your network while your network interferes with theirs.
