I own my PC for roughly four years now and have upgraded it several times. I’m not a tech expert, but I’ve tried almost everything possible before considering the GPU. Recently, I swapped my old RX 570 for a used RTX 2070 that I bought secondhand from a trusted eBay seller. I’m experiencing problems with my main game, World of Warships, which stutters severely—textures vanish and reappear after brief screen freezes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, connected the correct power cable to the GPU (previously only had one PCIE cable), re-seated the card, and checked with GPU-Z for any unusual temperatures. Nothing stands out. Warships isn’t playable, Warzone crashes when starting a match, and CSGO behaves similarly. I have no idea what’s going wrong. The only other details I remember are that Windows hasn’t crashed, just applications have. My system runs an Intel i5-5300U on an ASUS X570 TUF motherboard, with 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz RAM on a 750W PSU from Rosewill. Please help me.
Approximately three months ago, yes. Initially there was one PCIe power cable connecting both GPU ends, but it was adjusted to use two cables from the PSU—one for the 8-pin and one for the 6-pin. Edited October 3, 2022 by Bella Ciao
